Dhanraj Mandap Decorators is situated in Borivali West, at Manujit Banglow, Shop No 1, Gor. It’s a small shop, but it’s where all our planning happens. We focus on mandaps and decorations, mostly for weddings and local functions. We’ve been in Borivali for many years, so we know all the local halls and grounds. The shop is usually overflowing with fabrics, poles, and decorative items. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get inside sometimes. We spend a lot of our time on-site, putting things up and taking them down. It’s heavy work, and our hands are usually stained with paint or dust. We aren't trying to look like a high-end studio. We are just decorators who know our trade. My family has been doing this kind of thing, and it’s what we know. People come to us because they want someone who understands the local traditions and doesn't charge like the big city firms. We have a few guys who help us with the heavy lifting when things get busy. During the wedding season, we hardly sleep, but that’s just how this business is. We take pride in making sure the tent is sturdy and the colors look right. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just provide the setup so people can have their ceremonies. It’s honest, local work that we’ve been doing for a long time now.
