Devika Films

The Mahada Complex at Kandivali West is where we have been for a few years now. Our office is 45/302, and it’s right on the Link Road, which means it’s always loud outside. Being near Atharva College means there are always students walking around, which keeps the area feeling young. At Devika Films, we mostly spend our time editing or looking through old footage. The space is a bit tight because we have equipment boxes everywhere. Sometimes we have to move three things just to get to a chair. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. The light in the afternoon hits the windows pretty hard, so we usually keep the curtains pulled shut. We do a lot of our work on computers that hum all day long. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, especially when the machines have been running for hours. Most of the people who visit us are looking for help with their video projects or just want to talk about ideas for a shoot. We drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during long nights. Kandivali is a busy part of the city, and the Link Road never really sleeps. We like being here because everything we need is just a short walk away. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to make things look good on screen.
