Desire Chocolates

If you're looking for Desire Chocolates, you have to head to Kalbadevi and go to 167/171. We are up on the third floor in Room No 33. It’s not the kind of place you just stumble upon while walking down the street. You have to know we are here. The building is old and the stairs can be a bit of a climb, but it’s where we do all our work. We spend our days melting, tempering, and molding chocolate in that small room. It gets a bit cramped when we have a big order to finish, especially around the holidays. The smell of cocoa is everywhere, which is something you get used to after a while. We aren't a big factory; it’s just a few of us working with small batches. We keep the room as cool as we can, which is a challenge in the middle of Mumbai’s heat. Most of our customers are people who have heard about us from someone else or businesses that need specific things made for them. We don’t have a flashy storefront with neon lights. It’s just a workspace with some tables, a few machines, and racks where the chocolate sets. We do our own packing and labeling right there at the main table. It’s quiet work for the most part, away from the noise of the Kalbadevi markets below us. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay organized through the day.
