Designe Craft

Our space is tucked away in the Pradhan Building over in Mazgaon. It is Flat Number 20 on Dr. Mascarenhas Road. Mumbai is always loud and fast, but inside here, things are a bit more focused. Designe Craft started because we wanted to work on things we actually cared about. It’s not a huge studio, just a comfortable flat where we spend most of our waking hours. Living and working in 400010 has its own rhythm. The stairs in the building can be a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up again, which happens more than we would like. We handle a variety of design tasks right from our desks. There are papers and sketches everywhere usually. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in the city. We just want to do decent work that makes sense. Sometimes we go down to the street for chai when the afternoon slump hits. It’s a good neighborhood to be in. You get to know the shopkeepers and the people living nearby. Working from a flat means it feels less like a cold office and more like a workshop. We keep the windows open when the weather allows, though the Mumbai humidity is usually against us. If you’re looking for us, look for the name on the door on the second floor. We are usually here till late evening most days. It is a simple life for us here.
