Deepal Enterprises

You can find us over at Deepal Enterprises, right in the middle of Masjid Bunder West. We are in Shop No 79 on the ground floor, right on the main road. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know how hectic it gets. There are people and carts moving everywhere, all the time. Our shop isn’t very big, but we try to keep it organized with all the different items we stock. It’s mostly general supplies that small shops or households might need. We spend a lot of our time unpacking crates and putting things on shelves. It’s a bit of a puzzle sometimes. The building is old, and the street outside is always noisy, but we’ve grown to like the energy of the place. I’ve been running this spot with my cousin for a few years. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us helping whoever walks through the door. Some days are slow, and we just sit and drink tea while watching the traffic go by. Other days, we don't even have time to eat lunch because it’s so busy. We don't use any fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still written down in the registers. It’s how we’ve always done it. It’s just a normal shop in a busy part of Mumbai, trying to keep things moving for the local community. We aren't looking to change much. The heat gets to us sometimes, but we keep going.
