Dainik Sambad

Our office is Cabin Number 49, located at Plot No 111/A on the Gr Fort Main Road. If you are standing outside, we are directly opposite the Bombay University, which is a very beautiful building to look at every day. We are in the Fort area, which is full of history and old colonial architecture. Dainik Sambad is a news operation, so our cabin is usually filled with papers, notes, and the sound of people talking about the latest events. It is a small space for such a busy job, but we make it work. Working in Fort means we are right in the heart of the city's old business district. The energy here is different than in the suburbs; it feels very serious and fast-paced. We spend our days gathering information and putting together stories for our readers. It is not an easy job and the hours can be very long depending on what is happening in the world. We don't have fancy furniture or a big break room. Most of the time we are just hunched over our desks or out on the street talking to people. Being across from the university is a nice perk, as the trees there provide a bit of green in an otherwise very stony part of town. We just try to get the news out and keep the press running day after day. It gets dusty with all the old archives, but that is just the way newsrooms go.
