Creative Bags

Our workshop is located at 205 Janjikar Street, which is right in the middle of the bustle near Abdul Rehman Street and the Jumma Masjid. If you’ve ever been down this way, you know how crowded it gets with people, handcarts, and all kinds of goods being moved around. It’s a small space, but we make use of every inch of it. There are sewing machines humming most of the day and stacks of fabric piled up against the walls. We make all sorts of bags here, and the floor is usually covered in little snips of thread and offcuts of material. It’s a loud, busy environment, but there’s a rhythm to it that we like. The call to prayer from the masjid is how we keep track of the time throughout the day. We don't have a big sign or a fancy window display. Most people find us just by knowing we are here in the thick of the market. It’s hot in the summer with all the machines running, so we keep the fans going at full speed. We’ve been in this part of town for a long time and we’re used to the tight corners and the constant noise of the street outside. It’s just us, our machines, and a lot of thread, making bags one after the other. It's hard work on the eyes, but we've been doing it for years now.
