Our office is tucked away in the Hindustan Kohinoor Industrial Complex, which is right on LBS Marg in Vikroli West. If you know the area, you know it’s usually packed with trucks and people moving things back and forth all day long. We are in unit Fs 2, right opposite Metnal. The Control Panel & Switchgear Manufacturer Association is not a big corporate headquarters or anything like that. It’s a practical place where we handle the various tasks that come up for our members. The walls are a bit plain, and we have stacks of papers on most of the desks because there is always something to file or a letter to send out. The fans hum all day to keep the heat away, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the building. Being in an industrial complex means there is always a bit of noise from the neighbors, maybe someone is loading a pallet or a machine is running nearby, but we are used to it by now. Most people find us by looking for the landmark across the street. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations or making things look polished for visitors. It’s just a place of work where we get things done, drink a bit of tea, and talk about the industry. LBS Marg is always busy, so we try to get in early before the traffic really starts to crawl.
