We have been set up here in Powai for quite some time now. It is mostly just a few of us working with clay every single day. The studio is not very big, but it fits what we need for the wheels and the kiln we use. Usually, there is white dust everywhere because that is just how it goes when you are making pottery. We started this whole thing because we just liked making things with our hands. Sometimes things break in the oven during the firing process, and we just have to start all over again. It is a pretty quiet spot here in Powai most of the time. People occasionally come by to see what is sitting on the wooden shelves. Most days it is just the sound of the pottery wheel spinning and some old radio playing in the background. We do not have a big fancy sign or anything to draw people in. It is just Claygraphy. We try to keep things simple around here. If you are walking around the area, you might actually miss the entrance if you are not looking for it. The shelves stay full of bowls and mugs that are not always perfectly round, but they work just fine. We spend a lot of our time cleaning up wet clay from the floor. It is messy work and our clothes are always stained. We do not mind. It feels good to have something tangible at the end of the day.
