We are over in Fort, at 201, which is one of those old buildings with the high ceilings and the thick walls. The shop has been here for a good while, and it feels like the rest of the neighborhood hasn't changed much either. We have these glass jars lined up on the shelves, and some of them are a bit dusty on the top because they’re hard to reach. It’s not a modern place with bright neon signs. We just have the name on the door and the stock we have for the day. Sometimes we have a lot of one thing and nothing of another because the delivery didn't show up. Fort is a busy area with a lot of offices, so we get people coming in during their lunch breaks or right before they catch their trains. The floor is old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet. We don't do much marketing or anything; people just walk by and see the sweets in the window. My hands are usually a bit sticky by the end of the day from packing boxes. We don't have a big corporate team, just two of us who know where everything is kept. It’s a bit quiet in the mornings, which is when we do most of the sorting. It’s just a small shop in an old part of town doing what we’ve always done.
