Chocolate Art is tucked away in Dadar West 703. It’s more of a workshop than a fancy store. We’ve got molds everywhere and the cooling racks are usually full. We spend a lot of time just melting things down and pouring them into shapes. It gets pretty warm in the kitchen area during the afternoons. There’s three of us who handle the daily stuff. One person does the orders, one does the actual making, and someone else cleans up. It’s a lot of washing pots, honestly. We chose Dadar because it’s easy for getting supplies from the market nearby. The traffic can be a headache when we’re waiting for a delivery, but that’s just how it is here. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people who come in found us through a friend or just live in the building nearby. We make a lot of different things, some with nuts and some plain. It’s hard work on the hands, especially when we’re doing small details on the pieces. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients and have to wait for the next shipment. We’re not a huge company with offices. It’s just this room and our equipment. We try to keep the floors clean but there's always a bit of dust or sugar somewhere. It’s a honest day’s work and we’ve been doing it like this for a good few years now. We just keep at it every day because it keeps the lights on.
