We are located over in IC Colony in Goregaon East, right on the main road where things are always moving. Chocoholix started out in a tiny kitchen at home before we moved into this space. It's not a big factory or anything like that, just a few of us trying to figure out how to make things taste good without using too many chemicals. The humidity in Mumbai is a real pain when you're working with chocolate, so we’re always fighting with the air conditioner to keep things from melting. Sometimes the shop smells so much like cocoa that I can’t even smell my own coffee anymore. We get a lot of people coming in after work looking for something sweet. It’s not a polished place with marble floors or anything. We have some shelves and a counter, and that’s about it. Most days we are just busy wrapping things by hand. It’s tedious work, but it keeps us occupied. We’ve had some mishaps where a whole batch didn't set right, but you learn as you go. The neighborhood is friendly, and we know most of the people who walk by every morning. We don’t have a big marketing team or social media managers. It’s just us making stuff and hoping people like it. The floor gets sticky sometimes, but we try to keep up with the cleaning. It is a messy job but seeing someone enjoy a piece makes it worth the trouble.
