You can find us in Malad East, specifically at R/4 in the Lalchand Singh Chawl. It’s tucked away inside Janu Compound, which is one of those places that feels like a little maze if you aren’t from around here. We’ve been operating Chinmaya India out of this spot for quite some time now. It’s a humble setup, but it works for what we do. The walls are a bit thin and you can always hear the neighborhood sounds, kids playing or someone’s radio going. It’s a very local vibe. We aren't a big corporation with glass windows or anything like that. It’s just a few of us working together in a small space. Every morning, we open up the shutters and get things ready for the day. There is a lot of manual coordination involved in our work. We know most of the people living around Janu Compound by name. It’s that kind of place. Sometimes the rain makes things a bit difficult with the old roof, but we manage just fine. We don't spend much time on fancy talk or long presentations. We just focus on the tasks we have for the day and try to get them finished before it gets too late. Being in a chawl means we are right in the middle of everything, and that honestly suits us quite well. We’re just regular people trying to do a decent job every day at our Mumbai 97 location.
