You’ll find Lalit Footwear at No. 137/b in Vatsalatai Naik Nagar. We are situated on S. G. Barve Marg in the Chembur area. It’s a place that’s always got something going on outside. Our shop is full of shoes of all kinds, stacked up in boxes from the floor almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside, to be honest, and you have to watch where you step. We’ve been here in Chembur for quite some time now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around us. The shop itself is pretty basic and functional. We have a couple of plastic stools for people to sit on while they try things on, and a mirror that’s a bit old and spotted. We don’t spend our money on fancy decorations or expensive lighting. We just focus on the shoes and making sure we have what people want. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or people passing through on S. G. Barve Marg. It gets especially busy in the evenings when people are heading home from work. We don't have a big marketing plan or a social media manager. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to come in. It’s a simple way to run a shop without too much stress. Sometimes we have to move a lot of boxes just to find one specific pair, but that’s just part of the job. It’s a bit dusty, but it’s our spot.
