Chataniya Interior

Our office is number 6/54 in the Chaune building. It’s in Khar, right across from Agarwal Sweets. It’s a good spot because everyone knows the sweet shop. Sometimes we go there for a samosa when we are tired. Interior work is messy. There is always sawdust on my shoes. We have samples of wood and laminates everywhere. The table is covered in drawings and measuring tapes. Khar is a crowded area, so getting materials delivered is a headache. The trucks can't come in during the day. We have to wait for the evening. We talk to carpenters all day. My phone is always ringing. People want to know when the kitchen will be finished. I tell them these things take time. You can’t rush the glue or the paint. Sometimes the color looks different on the wall than it did in the book. We have to explain that to customers. It’s just how it goes. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s just this office where we plan everything. We have a small fan that makes a clicking noise. It’s been doing that for two years. We should fix it but we are always too busy with other people’s houses. That’s how life is for us at Chataniya Interior. Just working and trying to get things done right in this small space. It gets noisy but we don't mind it much.
