Chandu Sweets

We are located at 70/70A on Bhayander Road, right in the Zaveri Bazar area of Mathiya Nagar, Phase I. Chandu Sweets has been a fixture here for quite a while. The shop sits on a corner that gets a lot of foot traffic, especially in the evenings when everyone is headed home. We have a few big display cases that we fill up every morning. It’s a lot of work getting everything ready before the doors open. My father started this, and I grew up watching him handle the customers. Now I do the same. We don't use any modern machinery for most of what we do; we still prefer the old ways of preparing things by hand. The kitchen is in the back and it stays quite warm throughout the day. You can smell what we're making from down the street. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit, so most customers just grab what they need and keep moving. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to close down for it. We like seeing the regular faces every day. It makes the long hours feel worth it. We aren't looking to expand or become a big brand. We just want to keep the shop running like it always has for the people in Mathiya Nagar. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by four o'clock.
