Chandan Agencies is located at 607 on the ground floor in Kalbadevi. If you’ve ever been to Kalbadevi, you know how packed the streets are. It’s a maze of shops and people carrying bundles of goods. Our office is right there in the thick of it. We have been operating from this ground floor space for many years. It’s an old building, but it serves our purpose. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers and checking the stock that comes in. We deal with various products, mostly wholesale stuff that moves through this market every day. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit as much inventory as possible inside. It’s not a fancy showroom with lights and carpets. It’s a working office with desks piled high with invoices and samples. We get a lot of foot traffic from the street outside. People are always popping in to ask about prices or to see if a shipment has arrived. The noise from the street is constant—horns, shouting, the sound of carts being pushed over the stones. You get used to it after a while. We know most of our neighbors, and we often share tea in the afternoons. It’s a traditional way of doing business. We don't use much technology beyond what's necessary. It’s mostly about the relationships we’ve built over the years here in the heart of the market.
