Camp Fire India

We’re based out of Giriraj Society over in Dindoshi, Goregaon East. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main highway noise. We’ve been around for a while now, mostly focusing on getting folks outdoors. It started because a few of us really liked being outside more than sitting in an office chair all day. Mumbai is so crowded, you know? Sometimes you just need to see some grass or sit by a fire. Our space here in Zone II is where we keep all the gear and do the planning. It’s not a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. We have some desks, a lot of maps pinned up, and boxes of equipment everywhere. People come in to ask about trips or just to talk about where to go next. Most of us grew up around here or moved to the city and missed the open air. We handle the logistics for camps and outdoor programs. Sometimes it’s a bit messy, especially when a big group is coming back and we have to dry out all the tents. We just try to keep things simple. If you’re looking for us, we’re right in Nagri Niwara. It’s a nice community feel here. We aren't doing anything groundbreaking, just helping people get out of their flats for a weekend. It's practical work that we happen to enjoy doing ourselves most of the time.
