Active Shoe

We’ve been here at Alka Mansion on E. R. Road for a while now. Bhendi Bazar is always busy, and our shop is right in the middle of all that noise and movement. People come in looking for something comfortable to wear on their feet because they're walking these streets all day. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we keep different kinds of footwear stacked up. Sometimes the boxes get a bit messy when it’s crowded, but we know where everything is. My father started this, and now I’m usually the one sitting behind the counter. We see all sorts of people walking past the door. Some stop to chat, others are just passing through to get to the market. We mostly just focus on having enough stock for the season. If it's raining, we get the boots out. When it's hot, everyone wants sandals. It’s a simple way to make a living. The shop at No. 255- A isn't huge, but it fits what we need. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. Most folks find us because they live nearby or their cousins told them to come here. Dealing with shoes is honest work. You see someone find a pair that actually fits right, and it feels okay. We just keep the lights on and open up every morning, hoping for a steady day. That's pretty much us, just a shop in the bazaar.
