Behera Interiors

You can find Behera Interiors over at Room No 1 in the Lalchand Sharma Chawl. We are tucked away in the 7th Sector of Andheri East, right on 15th Cross. If you see the Hanuman Temple, you’re basically there since we are just behind it. It’s a small place, mostly filled with samples of wood, some cans of paint, and tools we use for the jobs. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. Most of our work happens at the sites where we are fixing up someone's kitchen or putting in new cupboards. We’ve been in this chawl for a good bit of time now. The neighbors know us by the sound of the saw or the smell of polish. We take on all kinds of small and big interior tasks around Andheri. Sometimes we are working late to finish a wardrobe, and other days we are just out buying hardware. It’s dusty work and our clothes usually have some paint stains on them. We don’t use fancy words to describe what we do. We just take the measurements, talk to the owners about what they want, and then start the work. It’s just us, a few workers, and a lot of sawdust. Being near the temple is nice, it’s a landmark everyone knows when they come to visit us.
