Padam Arts

Padam Arts sits at A/3 in the Paras building on S.V. Road in Goregaon West. If you know this part of Mumbai, you know how the traffic can get. It’s almost always crowded outside our door. We’ve been here for quite some time now, working on different art pieces and framing things. The shop isn’t huge, so we have to be careful about where we stack the frames and canvases. We usually have bits of wood and glass around, so it’s not the cleanest place in the world. We spend our mornings setting up and checking what needs to be finished. Sometimes people drop by just to ask about a price or look at some artwork we have leaning against the wall. We don’t really do anything fancy here. It’s mostly just us working with our hands and making sure the measurements are right. The light inside is a bit dim sometimes, so we use extra lamps to see what we are doing. It’s a busy life being in Goregaon. We see all kinds of people walking by every day. Some stop in for a chat while we work. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just open up the shutters every morning and get to work on whatever is on the table. It’s a simple way to spend the day, and we like the people who come in. The rains usually make the road a mess, but we stay dry inside.
