Inter Art is tucked away in Bandra East, over in the New Deepak Wadi area near Jawahar Nagar. It is one of those parts of Mumbai that is always moving, always noisy. Our space, number 519, isn't huge, but it's where we do all our work. Usually, there’s some paint on the floor or scraps of paper lying around because things get messy when you're busy. The humidity in Mumbai doesn't help much, so we keep the fans going all day long. Getting here can be a bit of a squeeze if you are driving because the lanes are narrow, but it's a good spot to be. We know the neighbors pretty well, the guy who runs the corner store and the people in the next building over. It’s just a normal workshop vibe here. We don't have a big reception area or anything. You just walk in and see someone working at a table. Sometimes we have a lot of orders to finish, and the place gets a bit crowded with boxes. It’s definitely not a corporate office. It’s just a place where we make things and try to keep everything organized. Sometimes we lose track of time when the light starts to fade over the buildings. It’s been our base for a long time now and we’re used to the local rhythm. It gets a bit dusty with the windows open but that's just how it is here.
