Barter Bank

We are located at 2 / 24 in the Juhu Gulmohar Building, right along the Juhu Vasna Road. It is a decent spot, though the traffic out front can get pretty backed up during the monsoon season when the water pools on the road. The office itself is quite simple, with just enough room for the desks and a few chairs for people who come in to talk. We spend our days coordinating different trades and keeping track of who owes what in our thick ledgers. It is a lot of back-and-forth communication, mostly over the phone or through emails that seem to never end. The building has that old Juhu feel to it, and we have gotten to know the security guards and the folks in the nearby shops pretty well. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a few old photos from a few years back. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a rattling sound, but we’ve gotten used to it over the months. Barter Bank is really just about the daily grind of making sure the exchanges go through without too much trouble. We take our lunch breaks when we can, often just grabbing something from the stall around the corner. It gets pretty bright in the afternoons when the sun hits the windows, so we usually keep the blinds pulled halfway down. It’s a quiet routine for the most part.
