Barad Textiles Private Limited

Barad Textiles is located right in the middle of Mumbai’s Cuffe Parade. We are on the sixteenth floor of the Venus Building on G D Somani Marg. It’s a bit of a trek up the elevator every day. Being in this part of the city is interesting because it’s so different from the textile hubs in other parts of Maharashtra. Out the window, you can see the sea and all the tall buildings, but inside we are focused on the fabric business. The office is always full of stacks of samples and files. We deal with a lot of people coming in and out for meetings. Mumbai traffic is always a mess, so we usually start our day a bit later to avoid the worst of it and stay late. It’s a small team here and we all wear many hats. One minute we're talking to a supplier and the next we're packing up a small parcel to send out. The building is old but sturdy. We don't have any of those modern open-plan offices; it’s just rooms filled with work. Sometimes the sea breeze makes it through the vents, which is nice. We’ve been at this address for a while and have seen the neighborhood change a lot. We just stick to our routine and handle the textile trades as they come. It’s a busy life but it’s what we know. We don’t really do fancy lunches, just something quick from the local vendors.
