Balloon Studio

You’ll find us in the Ajanta Building on Carmichael Road. We’re right next to Jaslok Hospital, which is a big landmark on Pedder Road. Our studio is usually full of half-inflated balloons and ribbons. It’s a bit of a colorful mess most days, but that’s just how it goes when you’re doing this kind of work. We aren't a big corporate entity. It’s just a small group of us who enjoy putting things together for parties and displays. The building is an older one, typical of this part of Mumbai. Sometimes the security guards help us move big bundles of decorations out to the street. We’ve been here for a bit, and we know the neighborhood well. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always something happening outside. We don't really have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just focus on making sure the decorations look right for whoever asked for them. It’s a lot of manual work, tying knots and checking colors. We keep it simple and honest. If you walk in, you’ll probably see us surrounded by plastic and helium tanks. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what we do. We like the creative side of it without needing to be too formal about it. It’s a fun way to earn a living and we’re happy to be here on Carmichael Road doing our thing. We just take things one event at a time and stay busy.
