Our office is located inside the Bharat Diamond Bourse in BKC, specifically in the AE tower, room 5030A. It’s quite a large complex, so if you aren’t used to it, you might get lost in all the different wings and blocks. We’re right across from the NABARD head office. Working in the Bourse means dealing with security checks every time you enter, which can be a bit tedious but it’s part of the job. Our space isn't huge, but we’ve managed to fit our safes and our desks in there comfortably. We spend our days sorting through gems and making sure all the export paperwork is in order. It’s a very busy environment with people from all over the world constantly moving through the halls. We don’t have any fancy decorations; just the tools we need and a few calendars on the wall. The lighting is very bright, which is necessary for our work. Most of us have been in this industry for decades, so we know the drill. We usually grab a quick snack from one of the small shops inside the Bourse when we have a minute between deliveries. It’s a professional place but we keep our own office feeling a bit more relaxed. We aren’t interested in being the loudest in the room, just in doing our work carefully and getting it done on time. It is a solid, practical place to spend the day.
