Vs Gems is tucked away in the Ellora Shopping Centre on 4th Road in Khar West. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this area can get. Our shop is at 12-B. It is a small place, but we have a lot of things packed inside. We spend most of our time looking at stones through small lenses. It is quiet work compared to the noise of the traffic outside on 4th Road. Customers come in looking for something specific, and we spend time showing them different pieces. The shopping centre has a lot of other stores, so there is always a mix of people walking past our door. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. It’s not a huge showroom, just a practical space where we can do our work and talk to people. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when a few people come in at once, but we manage. We don't use any big sales pitches or anything like that. We just show the gems and let people decide for themselves. The lights in the shop are bright so we can see the details of everything clearly. Living and working in Khar West means you get used to the fast pace, but inside the shop, we try to keep things a bit more slow and steady. It’s just how we do things here every day, sitting at the counter and working with our hands.
