Amethyst

Amethyst sits right on Nibm Road in the Kondhwa area of Maharashtra. It is a part of town that stays pretty busy throughout the day. I usually get here in the morning, open up the shutters, and start getting the display cases ready. The shop isn't some high-end showroom with marble floors; it’s just a practical space where we do our work. Being here in Maharashtra, we get a lot of heat, so the fan is always running in the corner. You can hear the bikes and cars zooming past outside on Nibm Road. Most of the people who come in are locals from the neighborhood who know where we are. I spend a lot of time looking at stones and checking the settings on different pieces of jewelry. My desk is often a mess with tools and little plastic bags scattered around. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just us here, making sure things get done right. Sometimes I sit by the door and watch the people walking to the market. The light in the shop is a bit dim in the back, but it works fine for what we need. We've been at this address for a while now and the locals know the name Amethyst. It’s a simple life, just running the shop and dealing with the daily tasks that come up in Kondhwa.
