Avery Shoes

If you go down Dayal Bagh Road and turn into Saran Nagar, you'll find us at 37/128. Avery Shoes is a place where we deal with footwear every day. It’s not a shiny mall store. It’s more of a workshop and storage spot where there's always the smell of leather and glue in the air. We have racks and boxes piled up, sometimes a bit too high, but we know where everything is. The sewing machines have their own rhythm. We spend our days looking at soles and uppers, making sure things are put together okay. It’s honest work, and your hands usually end up a bit dirty by the end of the shift. The lighting isn't the best in every corner, but we manage. People from around Saran Nagar know we're here. We don't do big ads or anything like that. We just focus on the shoes. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to tinker with it for an hour, which is annoying but part of the job. It's a small crew, mostly local folks who walk to work. We talk about the weather or what's for lunch while we work on the latest batch. It’s just a regular shoe place, nothing more and nothing less. We keep busy. There’s always a pile of leather scraps near the back door. We use an old radio to keep us company while we stitch. Some days are long, but seeing the finished boxes stacked up feels alright. We just keep our heads down and finish the day's tasks.
