We take up the whole second floor at Plot 62 on Sheriff Dev ji Street. It is right in the heart of the Chakala Market area in Mandvi. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know it is incredibly crowded and full of life. There is always something happening on the street below us. The building is older, and the stairs are a bit steep, but once you get up to our floor, there is plenty of room for Atlantika Exim to operate. We have stacks of documents and samples spread out on the tables. It is a bit of a maze sometimes. We don't have a professional decorator; we just put desks where they fit. Working in Mandvi means we are close to the trade action, which is helpful. The noise from the market filters up through the windows, so it’s never truly quiet here. We spend our days talking to traders and managing the details of our shipments. It's hard work and the hours can be long, especially when the market is busy. We aren't a polished firm with a marketing department. We are just people who know the trade and work from a busy corner of Mumbai. Our office is a place of work, not a place for showing off. We just keep our heads down and try to make sure everything gets where it needs to go.
