About Arifa Homemade Chocolates – Food & Beverages in Mumbai
Arifa Homemade Chocolates is run right out of Malad East, in Building No 2, Room 213. It’s not a shop on the main street. It’s a home-based thing, which makes it feel different than a regular store. I started making these chocolates in my kitchen a long time ago. At first, it was just for family, but then neighbors started asking for them. Now, it’s a full-time job for me. The room is always smelling like cocoa and sugar, which I suppose is a good thing. I do all the melting, molding, and wrapping myself. Sometimes my sister helps out when there’s a big order for a wedding or a party. It’s a lot of careful work, and my hands often get tired from all the stirring. Space is pretty tight in Room 213, especially when I have all the boxes laid out. I don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most people just find out about me by word of mouth in Malad East. I buy my ingredients from the same local shops I’ve always used. Sometimes a batch doesn't turn out quite right and I have to start over, which is frustrating but it happens. I don't use any big machines, just a stove and some simple tools. It’s a very personal business for me. I just like the process of making something from scratch and seeing people enjoy it.
