Arav Arts

Arav Arts is situated on S N Marg, right near Andheri Station. It’s a very busy part of town with people always rushing to catch trains. We are close to the flyover bridge and just opposite Vijay Nagar Society. Being near the station is good for business because there's always foot traffic, but the noise can be quite something. We’ve been here for a few years now. The shop is small and packed with all sorts of materials. We do what we can with the space we have. I usually open up early in the morning before the rush starts. We handle a lot of different art projects, mostly things that people need done quickly. It’s a lot of manual work, using our hands and simple tools. Sometimes my nephew comes in to help with the heavy lifting or when we have too many orders at once. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for our records, just a big ledger book. It works fine for us. People come in with all kinds of requests, and we try to figure out a way to do it. It’s not always perfect, but we put in the time. The rain during monsoon can be a bit of a problem with the shop being so close to the road, but we manage. We’re just local people doing a job we know. It keeps us going. We’ve been through a lot of rainy seasons here and we’re still standing.
