We've been here at Shama Manzil for a while now. Most days it's just us sorting through drapes and light sets. Jogeshwari West is always noisy, but you get used to it after a few years. When people come by, we usually have fabric samples scattered everywhere because there’s never enough table space. We don’t really do fancy stuff, just what people need for their functions. It’s a bit of a squeeze in the office sometimes, especially when the big poles for the tents arrive. The street outside is tight, so getting the truck loaded is always a headache for the neighbors. We try to be quick. It’s mostly family work here. A lot of the same people come back when another kid gets married or there’s a small party at home. We just grab the ladders and get to it. Sometimes the tea guy from downstairs brings us something while we’re arguing about where the floral arch should go. It’s not a big corporate operation or anything like that. Just a few of us making sure things look decent enough for the guests. We spend a lot of time untangling fairy lights, which is probably the most annoying part of the job. But once it's up, it's fine. If you’re looking for the shop, look for the pile of bamboo sticks usually leaning near the entrance of the building. It’s just how we run things every day.
