Al-Hind Enterprises

You can find Al-Hind Enterprises over in Andheri East, specifically at Jai Jawan Chawl near Ambedkar Chowk. We are in Shop No 2, right there in Ashok Nagar. Being near Kurla A means we get a lot of variety in terms of the people who stop by. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but we keep it stocked with what people need. Most mornings start with a cup of cutting chai and looking at the list of things that need to get delivered or picked up. The traffic at Ambedkar Chowk can be a real headache, especially in the afternoons when the heat is really coming down. We've been in this spot for a bit, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the work comes first. It is mostly about managing supplies and making sure the records are kept straight in our old ledgers. Sometimes the lights flicker when the load is high in the chawl, but we just keep going. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there is usually someone around to talk to. We don't spend money on fancy signs or big ads because most people know us by word of mouth anyway. If you're walking past the chowk, you'll see our shutter up pretty much every day except Sundays. It's a busy life but it keeps us on our toes. We just focus on getting through the daily list.
