We opened up Ajwa Sweets here in Dongri at Bda Layout 69/73 quite some time back. It’s a busy spot and the traffic outside is always loud with bikes and people shouting. Most days start early for us, around five or six in the morning, just getting everything set up before the sun really gets hot. The shelves are usually full by mid-morning with whatever we managed to get ready. You can find us right on the corner, and people from the neighborhood just drop in when they’re passing by to the market. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the small space, especially during the holidays when everyone is out and about. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure things are where they belong. The floor gets a bit dusty from the street but we try to keep up with it, though we usually miss a spot or two. It’s mostly regular faces we see every day, people living in the flats nearby or walking to the station. We’ve got the glass cases lined up with whatever was made that morning. Nothing fancy about the decor, just some basic lights and a fan that squeaks a little if it’s on the high setting. Dealing with the suppliers takes up a lot of our time in the afternoons. Sometimes the crates arrive late and we have to shuffle things around. It’s just how it goes in this part of town.
