Air Speed Express

Our place is tucked away in Sulochana Bai Chawl on the 4th Main Road in Andheri East. It’s usually pretty loud around here because of the traffic on Military Road. We spend most of our mornings sorting through piles of boxes and checking labels while the tea stall nearby starts getting busy. People from around V R Puram often drop by or just wave as they pass toward Ashok Nagar. The office isn’t much to look at, just some desks, a few chairs, and a lot of tape dispensers lying around. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full speed. Most of the day is just handling phone calls and making sure the delivery guys know which lane to take to avoid the worst of the local congestion. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, so we know the shortcuts and which buildings have the tricky entrances. It’s a lot of physical work, moving crates and stacking things so they don't fall over. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult, but we just cover everything in plastic and keep moving. There’s always someone coming in to ask for directions or checking if a package arrived yet. It’s just the usual daily grind in this part of town, nothing fancy, just keeping track of things and making sure they get where they need to go. We usually close up once the streetlights come on and the main road starts to quiet down a bit.
