Aaura Design

I’m sitting here at my desk at 27, Sai Raj Garden, looking out the window while a truck reverses outside. Aaura Design isn't some giant firm with glass walls and fancy coffee machines. We just have a few desks, some sketchbooks, and a lot of half-empty mugs. Most mornings start with us trying to find where someone left the measuring tape. It is usually under a pile of fabric samples or hidden behind a computer monitor. We’ve been at this for a while now. It wasn't planned out in some big boardroom; it just sort of happened because we liked making things look better than how we found them. Sometimes the printer jams right when we need it, and someone has to crawl under the table to wiggle the wires. That’s just how it goes here. We spend a lot of time talking about colors and where a lamp should go, maybe too much time if you ask the delivery guys who wait for us to sign papers. Our neighbor's dog usually barks around noon, which is our unofficial lunch bell. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just want to finish the work on our desks and make sure the people we work with are okay with the results. If you walk by, you’ll probably see us arguing over a shade of blue or eating sandwiches while staring at a floor plan. It’s quiet, a bit messy, but it’s our space.
