We’re right in the heart of Kalbadevi at Agarwal Sadan. Our office is on the first floor, Room 51. Dadisrth Agiyari Lane is one of those narrow streets where there is always something happening and people are always shouting. It’s quite a squeeze to get through sometimes with all the deliveries and handcarts blocking the way. We are A&G Tex Industry Private Limited. We’ve been part of the textile industry here for quite a while now. The building is old and has a lot of character, though the walls could really use a fresh coat of paint. We have rows of metal shelves filled with textile samples and old files that have been there for years. It’s not a polished corporate office. We use old wooden desks and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound when it's on high. Most of the day is spent on the phone or talking to people who drop by for a chat. It’s a very traditional way of doing business in Mumbai. We don't bother with anything too high-tech if we can avoid it. The tea guy comes around every couple of hours, which is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We know all the other shopkeepers on the lane and we help each other out. It’s a busy, noisy, and dusty place, but it’s where we belong. We just focus on the orders and making sure the numbers add up.
