A Noor Mohammed Band

A Noor Mohammed Band has been around for a long time. You can find us at 35/37 Bapu Khote Cross Lane, right near the Ja Masjid in Bunder West. We are in the Sampatrao Colony area of Alkapuri, situated just below the Godiji Jain Temple. Our place is usually full of brass instruments like trumpets and drums. It is a loud environment, especially when we are practicing or cleaning the instruments. The lane is quite narrow and always crowded with people going to the temple or the masjid. There is a lot of history in this spot. We are not some big entertainment corporation. We are a traditional band that plays for weddings, festivals, and local events. The uniforms are kept in big cupboards, and we spend a lot of time polishing the buttons and making sure the instruments sound right. It is a family feel here. Someone is always making tea, and there is usually a lot of laughter and shouting. Being below the Godiji Jain Temple gives the place a certain feel, and we have been part of this neighborhood's fabric for generations. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have our music and our instruments. When the season is busy, we are barely home, but we wouldn't have it any other way. It is just who we are and what we do for the community here. The sound of our band is the sound of the lane.
