A M I Express Services Pvt Ltd is situated right in the middle of Chakala. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know it never really sleeps. We handle a lot of courier work, both local and further out. Our space is filled with the smell of cardboard and the sound of the main road just outside. We aren't a massive logistics firm with thousands of employees; we are just a dedicated group of people trying to keep the deliveries moving. The desk is always covered in waybills and manifests. We have a small area where the delivery bikes park, and it’s always a scramble in the morning to get everyone loaded up. The office doesn't have much in the way of decoration, maybe just a couple of old maps of the city pinned to the wall. We spend a lot of time tracking down addresses that aren't clearly marked. Chakala has so many small lanes that it can be a real headache sometimes. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long shifts. Sometimes the internet goes down and we have to do everything by hand, which slows things down but we manage. We don't have any polished speeches about what we do. We just make sure the mail gets to where it is going. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and checking numbers, but it’s what we know how to do best in this neighborhood.
