Our studio is tucked away in A1, Jyoti Sadan. It’s right near the Sitladevi Temple on SVP Road in Mahim. It’s an old building, but it suits us fine. We spend our time here drawing up plans and looking at site photos. The tables are usually covered in rolls of blueprints and rulers. It’s not the quietest office because Mahim is always humming with activity outside. We’ve got a couple of computers for the modern stuff, but there’s still a lot of sketching involved. Being near the temple means there’s always something going on nearby. We don't have a big receptionist or a fancy waiting room. It’s just where the work happens. Sometimes clients come in to look at designs, and we sit around the big table to talk things through. We’ve worked on quite a few buildings around the city. The space is a bit cramped when we have a lot of models out, but we make it work. We try to keep things simple and focus on the drawings. It’s just a small team of us here. We deal with the city permits and the technical details that most people find boring. It’s a lot of measuring and double-checking. We enjoy being in Mahim; it feels like the heart of the area. We’ve been at this address for years and people know where to find us. We often have a radio playing low in the background while we work on the drafts. It's just a quiet routine we have.
