Steel Age India

Steel Age India is at 21 Badrikasharam Building. We have been working out of this space for quite some time now, mostly just focusing on steel and metal supplies. It is a pretty typical setup here. The building is older, and we fit right in with the other shops nearby. Most mornings start with moving heavy sheets or rods around to make room. It’s a bit of a workout. We get all kinds of people dropping by, from contractors to folks just fixing something at home. We don’t have any fancy showroom or air conditioning that works well, so it gets warm in the afternoons. You’ll see us mostly in old clothes because things get dirty fast with all this metal. We keep a lot of stock in the back, though it’s a bit of a maze sometimes. If you need a specific size, we usually have to go digging for it. It’s not a fast process always, but we get there. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth has always been enough for us. The noise from the street is always there, but you get used to it after a few years. It’s a simple operation. We just want to do the job right and keep things moving. There is no big corporate office or anything like that, just us at the counter. We’ve had the same neighbors for years and it feels like a real community even if it's just about business.
