Variya Ceramic

We are based in Thangadh village, not far from the post office in the Chotila tehsil. Variya Ceramic is a small part of the long history of ceramics in Surendra Nagar district. Here, life moves a bit differently than in the big cities. We deal with clay and ceramics every day, and our hands are usually a bit dirty from the work. The shop is more like a warehouse where we store the pieces we’ve made or collected. There isn't a lot of decoration on the walls, just rows of ceramic items waiting to be moved. We get a lot of dust from the surrounding fields and roads, so we’re always sweeping up. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, where everyone pitches in with whatever needs doing. Sometimes we’re out back checking the kilns, and other times we’re at the front talking to a buyer who drove in from another town. We don’t have any big slogans or advertisements. People mostly find out about us by word of mouth or by just passing through Thangadh. It’s a quiet kind of existence, focused on the material we work with. We just aim to provide what people are looking for without making it more complicated than it needs to be. It’s just how things are done in our village.
