Silicon Ceramics

Silicon Ceramics is located in the Jambudiya area of Morbi, right along the 8-a National Highway. This part of the country is famous for ceramics, so we are right in the middle of everything. Our facility isn't very large compared to some of the giants nearby, but we keep it running efficiently. We focus on getting the daily production done without any delays. The morning starts with a meeting with the shift leads to see what needs to be fired in the kilns. We have a lot of stacks of finished tiles sitting in the yard, waiting for the lorries to take them to different parts of India. It’s a dusty environment and the noise of the grinders is something you just stop hearing after a few weeks of working here. I spend a lot of my time on the phone with suppliers and customers. We don't use any complicated software to track things; we mostly use paper ledgers and our own memory. It works for us. We’ve had some tough times when the gas prices went up, but we just adjusted and kept going. There are no fancy lounges for visitors here. Usually, if a customer comes, we just pull up a plastic chair and talk shop over a glass of water. It’s a real, boots-on-the-ground business. We value the relationships we have with our long-term clients more than anything else. We just want to do our job well and go home to our families.
