Sir Ajitsinhji Government High School

People in Dhrangadhra know the school on Clob Road. It’s been here a long time. The gates open early and the noise of kids starts soon after. It’s a government school, so things are pretty basic, but we keep it running. The building has seen many years. We have classrooms that get hot in the summer, but the fans work most of the time. Teachers come from different parts of Surendra Nagar to work here. It's not a fancy place with a lot of money. We focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the students pass their exams. Some days are more organized than others. The playground gets dusty when it hasn't rained in a while. We have old desks that have had many names carved into them over the decades. It’s just how it is. Parents drop their kids off on bikes or they walk from nearby. We deal with the usual paperwork and stuff that comes with a state school. There’s always someone running down the hallway or a bell ringing. It isn't perfect, but it's where the local kids go to learn their math and history. Life moves at its own pace here in Gujarat. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows wider to let the air in. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many students, there's always a bit of a mess to clean up at the end of the day. You can see the wear on the steps and the old paint on the walls. We just keep doing what needs to be done every day.
