Scotlane Ceramics

If you know anything about Morbi, you know it’s the land of ceramics. We are out at S No 12p/1, just behind Safe Ceramic on the road towards Unchi Mandal. It’s a busy area. Scotlane Ceramics is part of that whole scene. There is a lot of mud and clay and heavy machinery involved in what we do. The kilns run hot, and the whole place feels like a big oven during the summer months. We spend a lot of time watching the production lines and making sure the tiles aren't cracking. It is easy to mess things up if the temperature isn't just right. The road outside is always full of trucks carrying finished tiles all over the country. We have a small cabin where we keep the paperwork, but mostly we are out on the floor. It is a noisy, dusty life, but it’s what everyone around here does. We wear heavy boots because there is always something heavy that could fall on your toes. We take turns bringing in snacks for the tea break, which is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We aren't doing anything fancy, just making slabs of ceramic that people put in their houses. It is hard work, and we go home tired every day, but it feels like we’ve actually done something with our hands.
