We are out on Jetpur Road, right near Aaru Sanitary. The actual spot is Survey No. 394/P3/P2. It’s a dusty stretch of road, but it’s where all the action is for ceramics. We spend our days working with clay and kilns. The heat from the ovens is something you never quite get used to, especially in the middle of the afternoon. We have a lot of crates stacked up in the yard, waiting to be moved. The office is just a small room with a fan and some old files. We aren’t big on fancy decorations here; it’s mostly just about getting the pieces made and making sure they don't crack. A lot of the workers have been with us since we started at this location. We see the same truck drivers every week, so we usually have a quick chat while they load up. The road can be a bit rough, especially after the rains, but it’s home for the business. Sometimes the power fluctuates and we have to scramble to check the equipment, but we get by. It’s just honest work with our hands. The dust on Jetpur Road is something else, especially when the wind picks up. It gets on everything, but we’re used to it. We usually take a break around four when the tea guy comes by on his cycle. We don't have a big marketing department. People find us because they know we're here. We just keep the kilns going.
