Our business, Or Ceramic, is located at Shital Pottery. We are right on the 8-A National Highway, near the Sartanpar Road turn in Makansar. Being near the highway is really useful because it makes transport a lot easier for the trucks. We work with ceramics, so there is always a lot of clay and dust around the place. It’s just the nature of the work we do. The building is more like a big workshop than a regular office. We spend most of our time out there checking the kilns or looking at the finished pieces to see how they turned out. It can be very hot work, especially in the summer months when the kilns are running all day. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy ads. We just rely on the work we do. People see our sign on the highway and they just stop by. We have a routine that we’ve followed for years. We start early, check the production, and handle the orders as they come in. Makansar has a lot of pottery places around, so we fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood. It’s a simple life. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just make our ceramics and try to keep the business going through the good and bad times. Sometimes the highway is loud, but you get used to it after a while. It’s just how things are here.
