Down here in Lalpar, things are always a bit dusty because of all the ceramic work going on. We are located right off the 8 A National Highway in Morbi. If you drive past, you’ll see plenty of trucks and factories lined up. Our place, Somex Ceramic, is just one of many, but we’ve been at this spot for quite some time. The weather gets really hot during the summer, and the shed can get a bit stuffy, but that’s just how it is in this part of Gujarat. We don’t have any fancy reception area or anything like that. It’s mostly just the office and the production area right behind it. Sometimes the tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. We spend most of our time looking at orders and making sure the machines are running. It’s loud, and there’s always something that needs fixing. We aren't trying to be some big global brand; we’re just local people doing our jobs. The road outside is always busy with people heading toward the city or the next town over. We know most of the neighbors, and we all deal with the same potholes and power cuts. It’s a simple life, and we don’t really try to make it sound like more than it is.
