Sologres Granito Pvt. Ltd. is located over at Survey No. 51 on Gala-shapar Road. If you know this area, you know it’s mostly industrial and the roads can get pretty rough during the monsoon season. We spend our days managing the granito stock and making sure the loaders know what they are doing. It is a lot of back and forth between the storage area and the main gate. The sun hits the metal roof of the shed around noon and it gets quite warm inside, so we usually take a longer break then. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here, just trying to keep the business running and getting the slabs out on time. There is always a layer of fine white dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. It’s part of the job when you work with these materials. Usually, the day starts at eight and doesn't really quiet down until late evening when the last truck leaves the premises. We handle a lot of paperwork which can be a headache sometimes, but it has to be done. Most of the guys working here have been with us for a good bit of time, so we have a rhythm. It is a practical life, focused on the slabs and the logistics of moving them from one place to another. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just the workspace and the stock.
